(UPDATE 11/16/20): As we are sure you are aware by now, governor Gretchen Whitmer announced yesterday the official rollout of a new public health order in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The new policy, imposed by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS), includes a three-week pause in specified group activities in an attempt to slow the rapidly-rising COVID-19 infection rate. This three-week pause will take place immediately (Monday, Nov. 16), with activities resuming on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.
What this means:
- Per the order, all ice arenas will be required to close (Monday, Nov. 16 in our case) and will be able to re-open on Wednesday, Dec. 9. During that time, all programming activities (youth hockey, adult hockey, Freestyle figure skating, Learn to Skate activities, etc.) in the facilities will be paused.
- In addition, the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association has also issued a three-week pause - all MAHA-sanctioned activity is postponed. No practices, games, team travel, etc. are permitted or sanctioned by MAHA during the three-week period.
More specific information related to your rink program/activity will be provided in the next week as more information becomes available and plans are updated. Please check our website for regular updates as matters continue to unfold.
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for your patience as we navigate through this situation.
